Most of the photos have been taken at the best time of year for that image, and when it is good sunny days with the sun in the right direction. Some photos took 3 or 4 goes at getting the best setting, i.e. sun and flowers. Some photos took up to 10 hours hiking over mountains up to 2,800ft. One mountain had to be climbed 3 times to get all the images needed. The hikes normally had to be done via the steep routes to get the best images.

You can see some of the images on this website in the towns, islands and walking pages. There are many more images on the disk than on the website, that are larger and a higher quality, as all the images on the website have been reduced in size and quality so they will load faster on the internet.
